And in today's episode, we're diving into something that may not sound super sexy, but it is absolutely essential. And it is systems for success. Because the truth is, success is not always sexy. And I've learned that in order to build sustainable success, it takes systems. It takes structured. And I will be the first to admit that I am not a person who loves structure. Blame it on my Zodiac sign, big Leo energy. Okay. I am very much carpe denim. Go with the flow. What will be will be. You know, I'm very much a person who likes to move on
Motivation Fades, Structure Stays
SPEAKER_00vibes. But when I started into this entrepreneurship journey, I very quickly realized the importance of structure and systems. Trying to balance a business, family, and coaching without structure is a fast lane recipe for burnout. And so I was that kind of person prior that was great at writing down goals, had a to-do list, I even had a planner. But those things alone wasn't going to cut it. Those were great, but they weren't enough. I had to create the routines and automations that would set me up for success. I realized that having goals, they were great, right? Having goals are the starting point. Goals inspire you. But the systems is what really supports you because it's not about working harder, it's about creating a rhythm that makes success repeatable and sustainable. So have goals, right? I want you to have goals, but think of those goals as what you want, what you desire. And your systems are the roadmap that's gonna actually get you there and let you stay there. So once I stopped relying solely on motivation and started building aligned systems, everything started to flow better for me. My business, my money, my time, my family, and even my peace started to flow better. So in this episode, I'm gonna break down the four systems that I use to manage my mindset, my money, my movement, and my momentum.
Defining Systems And Why They Matter
SPEAKER_00But let's first define what systems are. Systems are essentially structured ways of doing something consistently to get a desired result. And wealthy people, successful people, aligned people cannot just depend on willpower alone. They need systems, right? Because willpower is just not enough. We can't always will ourselves to do something. We have to create the processes and systems and structure in place for us to do it whether we feel like doing it or not. So, for example, your morning routine is a system. Your money habits are a system, even your boundaries are systems that's going to keep you on track and keep you aligned. So let me walk you through four systems that can help you stay aligned for success, not just financially, but mentally and spiritually too.
Mindset System: Routines That Reset
SPEAKER_00So the first system is your mindset system. I'm sure all of you know everything starts with mindset. So this is really going to be how do you upkeep your mental hygiene? Because your mindset affects every single thing that you do. You need a routine to be able to keep your mind right. And part of some of the systems that I have in terms of my morning routine is journaling. Journaling is part of my morning and evening routine. So I'm gonna do it either in the morning or in the night. I'm gonna write down my thoughts, write down how I'm feeling, write down what I'm grateful for. Journaling is definitely a practice that I upkeep. And I do it as soon as I wake up in the morning. Also, prayer, right? Prayer is a practice of mine, it's something that I'm gonna do, a prayer and devotional first thing before I even put my feet on the ground. That is a routine and a system for me. Also, daily affirmations. I'm sure many of you have heard about it. Listening to daily affirmations, I think it worked wonders, right? You could listen to an affirmation playlist, you could write down your own affirmations that resonate with you, but just having them as part of your routine. I happen to have affirmations on my mirror, so I could see it as soon as I brush my teeth, as soon as I get up in the morning and look in the mirror, I could be brushing my teeth and saying my affirmations in my head. I could be washing my face and saying my affirmations, right? And that's something that I love to do. I love to chunk things together where I could do more than one thing at once, not to be confused with multitasking. I don't mean focus on multiple things at the same time in terms of multitasking, but be able to chunk in a habit. And this is something I learned through the book Atomic Habits. In order to create a new habit, he suggests putting that new habit with something that you're already doing. So if you want to start affirmations, start your affirmations with a task that you're already doing. I'm always gonna get up in the morning and be in the bathroom, brushing my teeth, washing my face, getting ready. So why not do those affirmations when I'm already doing something that I'm gonna be doing anyway? So that's a great way for me. Something else that I do for my mindset is I take morning
Habit Stacking And Morning Walks
SPEAKER_00walks. After I drop my kids off for school, I take walks in the morning, and that is part of my mindset system practice because it gets my blood flowing, it gets me thinking, and this is a way that I get to clear my head, I get divine downloads, I get some great thoughts. Sometimes content even comes to me at this time. So that's part of my morning routine. That's gonna affect my energy, that's gonna affect my mindset. It even affects me spiritually. So I wholeheartedly recommend that you have a routine to align your mind before you do anything, before you start your day at work, before you manage your money, get your mind right.
Money System: Automate And Review
SPEAKER_00The second system is my money system, just like anything in your life, your money definitely needs structure. So a way that I structure my money is really automation. So I automate so many things. I automate my bills, I automate my savings, I automate my investing, I automate so many things so that I don't have to think about it. It's not that I have to remind myself to pay rent, remind myself to pay my electric bill, remind myself to pay my car note. I don't have to remind myself. I don't even think about it because it's automated. I don't have to think about saving, I don't have to think about investing, I don't have to think about the bills getting paid. It is automated. I have another system in place that I check these things monthly, right? I have a spending plan, so I have a money date on my calendar monthly on my calendar where it's a date. Like I pull up with the music, I pull up with a beverage of choice, and I really look through my finances at the end of the month, beginning of the month to see how was I spending in certain areas. I know everything already got paid, but it's like, okay, well, how was your spending in these categories? Are you spending more than what you budgeted for? Anything popped up that you didn't expect. So there is a money date on my calendar that is scheduled. That's part of my system to keep track of my money. And these systems help create financial peace for me. The third system that I have is my movement system. I schedule everything, I absolutely schedule everything that I do. And this isn't a practice that I started before becoming an entrepreneur, but now I have time blocks on my calendar for everything. The time that I wake up, the time that I drop my kids to school, the time that I'm doing my CEO work, any meetings, any workout, everything is scheduled. Because what I was doing before was I was just creating a to-do list. And then I was looking at it every day, saying, I need to do all these things. And you know what happened? I usually never completed all of those things. Hardly ever. Not in one day,
Movement System: Time Blocking Everything
SPEAKER_00because I actually couldn't. Sometimes our to-do list could literally be 24 hours worth of task. We're clearly not going to complete 24 hours worth of task in one day because we need to sleep, we need to eat, we have a family, we need to work. So now I still have a to-do list, but I schedule my to-do list. I literally look at my calendar and I block those to-dos in my calendar. So if I need to email clients, that's in my calendar. If I need to make phone calls, that's in my calendar. If I need to work out, that's in my calendar. If I'm having lunch with a friend, it's in my calendar. If I need to take my kids to practice, it's in my calendar. And that way I can really see how much time I have. And you know who else is in my calendar? Me. Because I like to go out, I like to go to the spa, I like to have me time, I'm in my calendar. And like I said, I I'm initially was a person who don't like to be super structured, but these structures are not restrictive. These structures actually allow me to do all the things that I need and want to do because I'm not looking for time. I'm not at the end of the day or the end of the week trying to find time for the things that I need or want to do. I create time, I schedule time. I'm not finding time. I look at my calendar and I do this every week. Typically on a Sunday night, I look at the week ahead of me, I create my to-do list, and then I schedule all the things. Even this podcast, I schedule it into my calendar. So that is a practice for your movement that has been instrumental for me, super profound, and I recommend it to anyone. Schedule your time, time block. Every and anything that you need to do should be on your calendar. My calendar of choice is my Google Calendar because I could literally move things up and down. So, for example, if I had scheduling a time block from 10 to 12, and I realized, you know, I need to move that because there's something else that I need to do before that. I just move it around. I don't take it off the calendar, I just move it around because it still needs to get done. So why do I need to take it off the calendar? But I will move it around. So it has been instrumental for me, and I really think it could be supportive for you as well. So the fourth system that I use is my momentum system. This is where I measure and recalibrate. So every 30 days, I check in to see what's working, what's not working, what needs to be shifted, what could needs to be updated, what needs to be removed, what needs to be added. So just like I said, I do a monthly budget. I do a monthly audit on my month, what worked, what didn't work, and I actually look at all categories of my life that's important to me. I don't just look at what's working in my finances. I
Momentum System: Monthly Life Audit
SPEAKER_00look at everything. Okay, how was your relationships this month? How was your money this month? How was your business this month? How was your family this month? How are you this month? Your personal, how was your spirituality this month? How was your health this month, right? Your fitness. I really look at all these areas of my life and I rate them. I give myself a score. So obviously, the higher the score, I know you were doing that thing, right? You did that. But if I give myself a low score, I'm like, okay, what happened here? You rated your fitness low. What's going on? Is there something that you could do better next month? And then I write down what I could do better because you can't change what you don't measure. So I measure how I'm doing in every area of my life. And this is a practice that I do every month, and I really invite you to do the same. Because sometimes people think systems steal your freedom. I used to be one of those people, but systems actually have created more freedom and more flexibility for me because I really control my calendar, I control my time, and I put in there what's important for me. So when your money, your schedule, and your emotions have structured, you gain the space to live more fully, to live more authentically, to live more free. And that's really what success is all about. And I'm a person who's very spirit-led. I want to kind of do things in the momentum when I feel called to do them, when I feel that I have the energy to do them. And I still give myself the space to do that, but my systems give me structure so that I
Systems Create Freedom And Flow
SPEAKER_00know what needs to get done, and I could move things around as so be it, right? If, like I said, if I had something scheduled for 10, and I'm like, actually, I feel like moving that to 12 because what I have for 12, I rather do that now. I give me the flexibility to do that, but I still keep the structure of knowing what needs to get done.
Align Move: Audit And Automate
SPEAKER_00All right, y'all. So this is time for your align move of the week. And this week, your align move is called audit and automate. And I want you to choose one area of your life, your money, your mindset, your movement, and take five minutes just to do a quick systems check, just to audit it. I want you to ask yourself, what's working, what's not working, right? What feels messy? And what could I automate or simplify to make this area easy for me? So maybe if you're looking at your money, that means setting up an automatic transfer to your saving or your investing account. So you don't have to think about it. You already know it's done. You transferred this money, it's going automated. Maybe for your business, it could be scheduling your content in advance. We know how hard that could be, right? As business owners. But picking a time on your calendar to create and schedule your content so you don't have to think about when things are gonna get posted this week. Or maybe it's just blocking some time for you. So looking at your calendar in advance and blocking off one day or some hours to just reset your energy, to just pour back into yourself. Because believe it or not, these small systems can create some big results, especially when they're compounded over time. So choose one of these areas this week and put it into motion.
